Cheryll L. Corigliano is an experienced and accomplished litigator in the State of New York, with a diversified background in both state and federal court practice. Admitted to the courts of the State of New York, as well as the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Cheryll’s forte is early resolution of cases through identifying key issues and strategies, plus being responsive to clients.

Cheryll assists corporations, small and mid-sized business entities, insurance carriers, self-insured companies, third-party administrators, and medical professionals in the defense of actions against them and their insureds. As to premises liability matters, her experience with building management and owners, retailers, restaurants and hotels ranges from slip-and-falls; snow and ice claims; negligent security and assault claims; elevator, escalator and lift accidents; door strike incidents; and parking lot, display, shopping cart, merchandise and counter incidents, among other scenarios. Also experienced in products liability and construction/labor law litigation due to a premises accident, Cheryll’s innovative approach has been used by clients to obtain favorable results.

Cheryll also focuses her practice on medical malpractice litigation, defending the interests of medical facilities, doctors and medical professionals, as well as protecting their interests in a non-litigation setting.

Prior to launching her own firm, Cheryll was an associate with a large New York City-based insurance defense firm, and also worked as in-house counsel for an insurance company. Over her 20 plus years as a litigator, she also worked for a small firm specializing in employment practices litigation, and two different mid-sized firms focusing on casualty defense, coverage opinions, general counsel and collections work, and medical malpractice.

Cheryll’s experience as in house counsel for a New York insurance company, as the first named attorney, puts her in the unique position of having extensive knowledge of automobile and premises liability matters, as well as coverage issues and the needs, requirements and expectations of insurance companies and third party administrators. She has extensive experience with high exposure and catastrophic cases involving automobile, truck, bus and motorcycle accidents, as well as property damage claims from natural disasters, construction failures, flooding and fire.

Through Cheryll’s relationships, she has grown into a mature advocate on collections matters for her corporate and business clients, as well as general counsel services for these clients.

Due to her vast and diversified experience over multiple forums in the legal world, Cheryll has been invited to make multiple presentations to insurance carriers and third party administrators on legal and insurance matters, focusing on the nuances of New York law and their impact on different types of cases.

Cheryll received her Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law in 1992, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, and graduated from University of Delaware in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Known for her hands-on approach, diligence, knowledge and straightforward advise, Cheryll strives to resolve every client’s issues as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
